Hull & East Yorkshire PFC first team travelled to the Lee Westwood Sports Centre, Nottingham Trent University on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October for Gameweek 1 of Slater and Gordon Championship.

The team featured Kai Gill, Aston Walls, Emma Hodson, Luke Brennan, Joel Rothery, Callum Jefferson and Harry Smith. In the opening Gameweek of the 2025/26 season, Eels faced four matches.
On Saturday, the team faced Nottinghamshire at 11:55AM and suffered a 6-0 defeat to the former Premiership side. Following a short break, Eels then faced WBA Baggies and suffered a 3 - 0 defeat.
On Sunday, the team faced Manchester United and suffered a 5-0 defeat despite keeping Manchester United goalless in the second half. Finishing their opening Gameweek, next up was against Nottingham Forest. Despite promising signs the team struggled to find their rhythm snd suffered a 1-0 defeat.
Reviewing the weekend, captain Kai Gill said; “We are disappointed with the way we played at the weekend. We seemed to not find our rhythm and not play our style of football. We’ve got a month now to fix the chair issues we had and importantly, improve to ensure we play the football we enjoy in Gameweek 2 where hopefully we can pick up points.”
The team are now in 11th position in the Slater and Gordon Championship table.
