Slater and Gordon Championship Gameweek 5 Review

Hull & East Yorkshire PFC first team travelled to Nottingham last weekend for the Slater and Gordon Championship Gameweek 5. The team faced Leeds Dynamos, Norwich City PFC, Altrincham PFC and GBG Saracens. Electric Eels came away with seven points from a possible twelve.

The team featured: Callum Jefferson, Emma Hodson, Harrison Smith, Joel Rothery, Luke Brennan, and Tyler Mclelland.
Electric Eels opened their gameweek 5 against Leeds Dynamos, within the
Tyler received a pass from Callum, that saw a great pass across the court to Luke, who scored from a 180 degree hit. The rest of the game saw both teams battle in tackling, testing each others defence. But, it was Hull who came away with the win. FULLTIME: 1 - 0 (EELS WIN)
Next up for Hull & East Yorkshire PFC was against former premiership side Norwich City PFC. This game was always going to be an entertainer following previous matches. Electric Eels were able to utilise their passing style, that came to fruition when Annmarie scored within the opening two minutes. The remaining first half saw Norwich press Eels defence but it held strong. The second half saw Norwich respond with a quick goal. Shortly after, Eels readjusted themselves and were able to produce a great goal from Harrison Smith. FULL TIME 2 - 1 (EELS WIN)
Day two saw Eels face Altrincham PFC a game that wasn't as entertaining to others. The two sides tested their attacking set pieces but, both teams defence were great. It resulted in a deservingly 0 - 0 draw. FULL TIME 0 - 0
Next up, the final match of the 2025/26 Slater and Gordon Championship was against newly promoted side GBG Saracens. A side full of young talented players. This was an entertaining match with both sides finding a gap in defences with Annmarie scoring for Hull. But, it was Saracens who came out as winners with a 2 - 1 win.
Hull & East Yorkshire PFC finished the season in 10th place with 21 pts.
