Slater and Gordon Championship Review

Hull & East Yorkshire PFC first team travelled to Nottingham last weekend for the Slater and Gordon Championship Gameweek 4. The team faced WBA Baggies, Teesside Steel, Manchester City PFC, Manchester United PFC and Nottinghamshire PFC. Our first team came away with 8 points from a possible 15.

The team featured: Callum Jefferson, Emma Hodson, Harrison Smith, Joel Rothery, Luke Brennan, and Tyler Mclelland.
Electric Eels opened gameweek 4 against WBA Baggies, a quick start from Eels saw Tyler score a great goal scoring from his own half in the fifth minute. An intercepted pass from Tyler, who set himself up for a 360 spinkick, hitting the ball up the court at pace, scoring for Eels. Following this, both teams continued to utilise the court, playing a passing attacking style. At the 17th minute, WBA Baggies scored an own goal. Despite this, the Baggies responded in quick style, scoring a minute later. Eels went into halftime with a 2 - 1 lead. The second half saw both sides holding their own in defence and attack. Next up for our first team was against Teesside Steel, which saw both sides in the first half defending and attacking well. But, Eels were the side who capitalised, a passing passage of play from Tyler and Harry, saw the winger Harry draw Teesside keeper off the goal-line and attempted to score a goal, seeing Teesside save the ball but, with some contact. This resulted in a penalty being given to Eels, seeing Tyler score at the 12th minute heading into halftime with a 1 - 0 lead.
The second half saw Eels continue to stick to their structure and systems, passing the ball testing Teesside defence, likewise with Steel doing the same. At the 21st minute, a 360 spin up the court from Tyler, passing to Callum, who 360 spun scoring a goal. The game continued with both sides playing an expansive style. HEYPFC came away with 3 points. The final game on Saturday for the Eels was against Manchester City PFC. This saw both teams play their style of powerchair football, testing set pieces, but unable to break each other's defence. The match at full time was a 0 - 0 draw. Fulltime:
On Sunday, the team faced Manchester United PFC at 11:35 AM. Despite a promising start with both teams battling and testing each other's defence, Manchester United PFC opened the scoreline with a 1-0 lead. The second half saw Manchester United continue to utilise their passing style and set pieces with two goals. Full time: 3 - 0
The final game for Eels was against the top of the table side, Nottinghamshire PFC.
Both sides held their own, especially in defence and attack. The game was certainly resulting in a 0 - 0 draw.
Electric Eels now sit in 11th position with 14 points, the team will next be in action on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th April.
