Electric Eels progress in The WFA Cup

Electric Eels first team have progressed in The WFA Cup following an end to end action in round 1 against Manchester United PFC.

In summary how did it all happen:

Man United led 2-0 after 15 mins, then we pulled a goal back just before Half Time. We raced out the blocks 2nd half and we're soon 3-2 up. Man U fought back to 3-3 we scored with what we thought would be the winner with 2 mins to go for then to conceded with seconds left. 4-4 after 40 mins. So onto extra time and both teams scored twice to finish up 6-6.

Penalty shoot out was a close affair as well but we converted all of ours to win 4-3.

First team captain, Kai Gill states the support on Saturday was incredible. He said: “ We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came on Saturday to cheer us on including our parents/carers, sponsors and supporters. Your support is incredible. It’s taken a couple of days for us to process everything but, we are determined as a group to continue our WFA Cup journey to how far we can get. We will analyse and improve in preparation for our nationals weekend coming up. “

A fantastic team effort from all our players Kai, Luke, Kole, Amy and not forgetting young Ashley who made his first team squad appearance. We await the draw for Round 2.
