University of Hull sponsors an award


The University of Hull have become award sponsor for our first summer party/awards night happening in June. The event is taking place at The Village Hotel, on Saturday 15th June shortly after the current powerchair football season finishes for both our first and academy team.

On the night, a variety of categorised awards will be given to players for their achievements throughout the season. Hull University will be presenting the ‘Special Award for Volunteer/Helper’ which will be awarded to the individual who help set up equipment at training alongside other duties.

University of Hull is the region’s leading higher education establishment with over 100 courses including undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Additionally, the University has committed to spending over £200 million on refurbishing and building new state of the art facilities including the recently opened The Beacon a 3 court sports facility hall with state of the art gym. Recently, University of Hull became Team GB official University Partner. The University of Hull has fantastic facilities for disabled students including two changing place equipped with ceiling hoist and plinth, lifts, automatic doors plus much more. In Summer 2018, Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club moved to The Beacon which, is now the club's training ground and official home venue.

Since moving to the new sports facilities the University of Hull have been impeccable towards helping the club through a variety of ways and exploring new opportunities for the future. This has included marketing students fundraise for the club recently raising over £100. Steve and his staff at the University have been extremely helpful and we look forward to celebrating six years, the end of season with themselves and our other sponsors.”
