Electric Eels travel to Nottingham this weekend as the MDUK Championship returns to the Lee Westwood Sports Centre. Over the weekend, Electric Eels will play in a total of four games as they begin their 2018/19 Nationals campaign. During the past few months, Electric Eels have been training hard in pre season training.

On Saturday 13th October, Electric Eels will kick off their 2018/19 MDUK Championship campaign by facing Middlesbrough Reserves at 9:15 AM. Later in the day they will face former Premiership side, Manchester United PFC at 1 PM. On Sunday 14th October, Electric Eels will face Telford PFC at 11:45 AM, then finish round one by facing Nottingham Forest PFC at 3:30 PM.

Lee Brennan, head coach states the team are raring to go following a long break from National League. Lee said: " This time of year the fixtures come thick and fast! After trips to Middlesbrough and Newcastle in the regionals we now go toNottingham for the start of another National League season.  There's
never any easy games at any level, but that applies even more so to the Nationals.

" We start at 9.15 on Saturday with a game v Middlesbrough Reserves and then face recently relegated Man Utd in the afternoon. Sunday sees us play Telford and Nottm Forest. We'll have a squad of 6 for the weekend and I'll be utilising all 6 players. Last season we finished with our highest points tally and best goal difference so we're aiming to better those stats again this season. If we play to our full potential we'll do it. "

First team captain Kai Gill, has praised the teams efforts in training and recent matches within the regional league. Kai said: " We are really looking forward to Nationals starting. The past four matches that we have played in the North East have given us a really positive indication of where we are heading and the progress that we have made. As a team, we've spoken about using this season as a journey as we really want to challenge the league, we know it's not going to be easy, but we are prepared to work hard for each other. I have been really impressed with the efforts everyone has put in this pre season, we have six players now in the team and we are all pushing each other in order to get the full potential out of us."
